The Duelist Open is Ann Arbor Dueling Society's flagship event and one of the largest USA Fencing tournaments in the region. We've been running it since 1998, and it draws competitors from across Michigan and neighboring states every year.
This year, the Duelist Open 25 will take place on August 29–30, 2026 at Belleville High School in Belleville, MI. Entry is $40 per fencer, and mandatory mask, glove, and body cord inspection is required before registration closes for each event.
To compete in USA Fencing tournaments, you'll need a current USA Fencing membership. Student and adult membership options are available at a range of price points, and your membership covers you for a full season of competition.
Annual membership can be purchased directly through USA Fencing at usafencing.org. Members get access to the national rating system, insurance coverage at sanctioned events, and the ability to register for rated tournaments.
Most regional tournaments are listed and managed through AskFRED. Create a free account, find an event you want to enter, and register online. Tournament fees vary by event.
